RESOLUTION
To


Create an Olympics for the Commonwealth of Redmont.​

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress, do hereby formally enact this non-binding resolution, as a request to our Government:

1 - Short Title
(1) This Resolution may be cited as the “Commonwealth Olympics Resolution”.
(2) This Resolution has been written by Rep. Twiscet and edited by Rep. Omegabiebel.
(3) This Resolution has been co-sponsored by Rep. Omegabiebel

2 - Reasons
(1) This act would give people of the Commonwealth of Redmont a regularly scheduled event to enhance the experience of being a Redmont citizen.
(2) This act would also enhance roleplay opportunities for citizens on DemocracyCraft.

3 - Olympics
(1) The event shall be called “The Commonwealth Olympic Games” but may be referred to as “The Olympics”.
(2) The Olympics shall happen at least once every presidential term according to the regularly scheduled presidential elections. The specific date shall be set by the President within his term.
(3) The DPA Secretary shall set up a committee to help with setting up the Olympics and hosting the event. The committee shall be known as the Redmont Olympic Committee (ROC).
(4) A member of the ROC shall be known as a ROC Member and can be appointed and dismissed at any time by the President or the DPA Secretary. There shall be no limit on how many ROC Members the ROC can have.
(5) All decisions by the ROC shall be taken with a quorum of 50%, with AYE, ABS and NAY votes in the numerator and the total members of the ROC in the denominator
(6) All ties shall be broken by the DPA Secretary.
(5) The ROC shall serve as the main body of the Olympics, however the DPA secretary and the President may veto any decision made by them.
(6) All of Redmont's official towns shall compete in the Olympics and set up their own teams for the event.
(a) The mayors shall choose the team that will represent their respective towns. For Reveille, which doesn't have a mayor, the Department of the Interior Secretary shall choose a team for the town.
(7) The Olympics may receive funding by the DPA if needed which shall be approved by the DPA secretary.

4 - Execution
(1) The Olympics shall have a minimum of 4 different sports where athletes compete with each other.
(a)The ROC shall decide what sports shall be within the Olympics and if there will be any more than 4.
(2) The Olympics shall be held at a place within Redmont chosen by the ROC.
(a)In the case that a building needs to be constructed, the DCT shall build this under the authority and budget of the ROC.
(3) The president shall come out with a public statement stating when and where the Olympics will be held at least 1 week before the Olympics start..
(4) The ROC shall establish a standardized set of rules for each sport, ensuring fair play and clear competition guidelines.
(5) The ROC shall determine a system for awarding trophies to the winning team and players of each sport.
(6) The ROC shall act as the judges for the Olympics, making sure that no athlete breaks any of the rules set by them. A contestant may appeal a judicial decision made by the ROC to the Federal Court.
(7) The Olympics shall have an opening ceremony decided by the ROC.
(8) To symbolize the beginning of the Olympics the President shall place a torch in a spot determined by the ROC.
