Allow for acting representatives and senators

The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Acting Representative Act”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) Authored by Speaker Krix

2 - Reasons
(1)To allow for representatives under severe circumstances to take a leave of absence from their duties for a certain time frame.

3 - Bill
(1)Should a representative or Senator become incapacitated, unavailable, non contactable or is not able to carry out their duties for a period of time of more than 7 days this process may go into effect.

(2)A member of the house may motion that an acting representative/senator be appointed to fill the vacancy during the period the unavailable representative or senator is away, a majority is needed for the motion of nomination to pass an the acting representative to take the office.

(3)The acting representative/senator is to fulfill all responsibilities and duties of their office until the unavailable representative they are acting for returns.

(4)As soon as the Representative they are acting for returns the Acting Representative/Senator is immediately relieved of their duties and the unavailable Senator/representative retakes their responsibilities in the House/Senate.

(5)If the unavailable representative/Senator is inactive without notice, 10 days later the seat will be declared vacant. if the representative gives notice and confirms they will be returning within 3 weeks their seat will remain filled on an acting capacity after the 3 weeks the seat must be filled officially through the official process for filling vacancies.
