Amend the Miscellaneous Offenses Act​

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Amend Resisting Arrest Act'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Citizen Jabolko
(4) This Act has been co-authored by Representative BabySoga
(5) This Act has been co-sponsored by Senator Vernicia

2 - Reasons
(1) Currently, it is very stressful for police officers to deal with players who forcefully resist arrest. This is especially imperative considering the current lack of police officers.
(2) The current punishment for resisting arrest is only $100, which is not proportional to the amount of extra workload it means for the law enforcement.

3 - Amend Section 4 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act as follows:
(1) Remove the part in red and add the part in green:

(6) Resisting Arrest
(i) Classification: Summary Criminal Offense
The act of disregarding a directive given to you by a member of the Department of Justice Homeland Security while being wanted ;or logging off of the server whilst handcuffed, or logging off of the server whilst a police officer is actively pursing you.
Per Offense: 100$ fine
First Offense: 300$ fine + 10minutes Jail time
Second Offense: 500$ fine + 20 minutes Jail time
Third Offense: 1500$ + 35 minutes Jail time
Following Offenses(after 3rd): 1500$ + 35 minutes Jail time
