A BILL To
Prohibit Bonuses

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment (1) This Act may be cited as the 'Bonus Busting Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by: Senator xEndeavour
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by: Speaker of the House Intercepticon

2 - Reasons
(1) For years the Federal Government and Local Governments have given out public money as bonuses to Government workers. This practice is subjective and has, at times, shown bias.
(2) Department funds should be spent on remunerating all department workers rather than being concentrated on one or few employees. (3) Removing bonuses enables an increase to Government wages.

3 - Bonuses
Public funds are not to be used for the provision of bonuses.

Veto

This bill has been vetoed. Bonuses are a good way to motivate employees. While I agree that the system needs to be reformed to become more fair and less wasteful, it should be done internally through the executive.
