A
BILL
To
Amend the Constitution
The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “byeSprite Congressional Electoral System”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) Authored by Attorney byeSprite
(4) Sponsored by Rep. LilDigiVert
2 - Reasons
(1) Our current voting system is dysfunctional. It relies on the assumptions that people vote based solely on party lines or party policies, and in some perspectives our system can be said to be extremely un-democratic as it doesn’t properly allow for the people who receive the most support to be elected under certain conditions
(2) House elections should remain on a proportional representation system as more people are likely to vote based on policy for these elections as this is where bills are proposed. To fix the issue currently existing with proportional representation, the House of Representatives should have eleven seats as opposed to nine to lower the entry threshold, de facto allowing for a more representative system.
(3) Senate elections will be shifted to a block voting system. The senate should be shifted to block voting because people are less likely to vote on party or policy and more likely to vote personally given the implications of a Senate position.

Lotta people be thinkin', but I'm just a sayer
Artists can't perform the Super Bowl, but it's okay for the players?
All these half-way movements, need a whole lotta improvement
Everybody wanna talk, everybody wanna type
Ain't nobody finna do it
And everybody throwin' dirt
All that talk won't work, all that talk don't work
Now, who you think you talkin' to nerd?
W-w-w-w-w-wait, it get worse
Wait, it, wait, it, wait, it been bad
Showin' up to the Grammy's mad
Tryna win some' we already had
Tryna become some' we already are
Don't make me go Rastafar'
We doin', no tryin', no dyin', we livid, I'm livin', I get more specific
All these admirations, likes, and false validations
Feeding to our ego, that just aint for me bro
One in four get locked up, small parties get mocked up
Plan B was they Plan A, to lower the count of our families
To lower the count on our damn votes
Let the man quote
3 - Constitutional Amendment
(1) “All elections for the Senate or the House of Representatives shall be conducted through a system of Proportional Representation outlined outside this constitution. It is the duty of the Courts to strike down election acts that would not create Proportional Representation. In the event that such a Court ruling occurs, the previously lawful elections act would once again become law.” will be changed to “Elections for the House of Representatives shall be conducted through a system of Proportional Representation outlined outside this constitution. Elections for the Senate shall be conducted through block voting. It is the duty of the Courts to strike down election acts that do not reflect the electoral processes outlined outside of the constitution. In the event that such a Court ruling occurs, the previously lawful elections act would once again become law.”
(2) “The House of Representatives shall consist of 9 citizens, referred to as Representatives (Abbreviated Rep.) who are elected for 2 month terms. The House of Representatives is where all bills originate from.” will be changed to “The House of Representatives shall consist of 11 citizens, referred to as Representatives (Abbreviated Rep.) who are elected for 2 month terms. The House of Representatives is where all bills originate from.”

4 - Proportional Voting System
- The proportional voting system used for the House of Representatives is currently outlined in the Second System of Proportional Representation Act. Any subsequent legislation that changes the system of proportional representation will be used for the House of Representatives elections.
5 - Block Voting System
- The block voting system is the system used prior to the proportional voting system. The candidates with the highest amounts of votes will win their seats. For example, the three or six candidates with the highest amount of votes in the Senate will win those three or six seats.
- The Block Voting System will have no effect on the election cycles of Class A and Class B senators.
