The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Civil Rights Expansion Amendment”
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
2 - Purpose
(1) In order to maintain and secure our democratic nation, we must further codify fundamental rights.
(2) This amendment expands the civil rights of the people.
(3) Rights such as to be secure against unreasonable search or seizure, while established with warrants, are not codified within the constitution.
3 - Amendments
(1) The following amendments shall be added in the same formats as the rights and freedoms specified in the "Rights & Freedoms" in the roman numeral ordering.
4 - Communication Freedoms
Under "Rights & Freedoms" added:
"- Freedom of the Press and Media."
5 - Assembly and Unionization Freedoms
Under "Rights & Freedoms" added:
"- Freedom of Peaceful Assembly.
- Freedom of Association."
6 - Equality Rights
Under "Rights & Freedoms" added:
"- Every citizen is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without unfair discrimination and, in particular, without unfair discrimination based on political belief or social status."
7 - Legal Rights
Under "Rights & Freedoms" added:
"- Every citizen has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.
- Every citizen has the right to be secure against unreasonable search or seizure. "
