The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Fifth Right Expansion Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Rep. CaseyLeFaye and AlexanderLove.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by CopTop_YT.
2 - Reasons
(1) The right to not produce self-incriminating evidence is limited to certain situations. For example, there is no coverage for interrogations. This Bill seeks to expand it to all situations.
(2) This Bill seeks to guarantee that no adverse inferences (i.e. assumptions of guilt) are made in criminal matters from the usage of this right, which is essential to this right working properly.
3 - Amendment
(1) Section 33. Rights & Freedoms of the Constitution shall be amended as follows:
“V. No Every citizen is to be made to has the right to not produce self-incriminating evidence in a court of law, Congressional hearing, subpoena, or impeachment trial any situation. In criminal matters, no adverse inferences may be made from this right being exercised, specifically such that the exercise of this right in itself shall not be weighted when determining a verdict in criminal Court.”
