(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Impartial Judicial Officer Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Rep. CaseyLeFaye.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Rep. ItsKatto.

2 - Reasons
(1) To make the Ninth Right indisputably apply to all courts and all Judicial Officers.
(2) To remove redundant text.

3 - Amendment
(1) Section 33 of the Constitution shall be amended as follows:

“IX. Any citizen, has the right to an attorney for a speed and fair trial. Any citizen, criminal or otherwise, will have the right to a speedy and fair trial presided over by an impartial Judge Judicial Officer, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation, and to be confronted with the evidence against them, and to have the assistance of counsel for their defense.”

Why would you remove the constitutional right to an attorney, and to a fair and speedy trial?

Why would you remove the constitutional right to an attorney, and to a fair and speedy trial?
Read the rest of the ninth right. This right still contains "Any citizen, criminal or otherwise, will have the right to a speedy and fair trial," and that people have the right to "have the assistance of counsel for their defense." Therefore, the first sentence is redundant.

Nay - Removes the right to an Attorney. This Act only allows "counsel" but not necessarily qualified legal counsel.

Veto

This bill has been vetoed.

It is imperative that Commonwealth citizens maintain their right to an Attorney. As stated by frmr. Senate President Dartanboy:"This Act only allows "counsel" but not necessarily qualified legal counsel."
