A
BILL
To

Strengthen Congressional Dedication to Redmont’s Literature, Culture, and Media

The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Library of Congress Act”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act was authored by Speaker of the House xlayzur.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Representative Tylxr and Senator sleepyjay_

2 - Reason
(1) Currently, Redmont has no established archive for articles, videos, and publications of national significance. A Library of Congress would fulfill this purpose while strengthening Redmont’s culture and providing a national government platform for our best writers and artists.
(2) This would finally add a use to the resolutions section of the forums.

3 - Terms
(1) A Library of Congress thread category shall be established under the “Congress” category on the forums.
(2) Representatives and Senators may propose an addition to the Library of Congress via a motion in their respective chamber. Any such motion must reach a supermajority in both chambers of Congress to be added to the Library of Congress.
(3) All works must have relevant information relating to the creator, such as the source, author, artist, etc.
(4) Any media relating to Redmont, including but not limited to the listed, can be proposed:
(a) Creative media such as videos, photography, graphic content, and written works - fiction and nonfiction.
(b) Informational content about the government.
(5) Threads are to be created for the media, one per individual/organization/group. Any additional media items by the same creator are to be added as comments on the thread.
(3) A thread will be posted under the Congressional Library called “National Symbols” by the forums account “Congress”. National Symbols will be listed there and will be updated when passed in Congress by either a Presiding Officer or a delegated Congressional Staff.

A
BILL
To
Add a National Symbols Thread to the Congressional Library
Amend the Library of Congress Act

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “A Cool National Symbols Thread Act"
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This bill was authored by Representative A__C.
(4) This Act is co-sponsored by Representative Rurge.

2 - Reasons
(1) There is currently no documentation specifically for national symbols of Redmont. The Congressional Library currently has no content and would be a good place to store national symbol information.
(2) This would finally add a use to the Congressional Library section of the forums.

3 - Amendment
Adds to 3 - Terms in the Library of Congress Act:
(3) A thread will be posted under the Congressional Library called “National Symbols” by the forums account “Congress”. National Symbols will be listed there and will be updated when passed in Congress by either a Presiding Officer or a delegated Congressional Staff.

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This bill was authored by Representative A__C.
(4) This Act is co-sponsored by Representative xlayzur and Senator f6rn.

2 - Reasons
(1) The Congressional Library / Library of Congress Act currently only encompasses media that is implied to be creative media. However, anything of significance should be able to be proposed.
(2) Also using Resolutions to add media was a bad idea. I guess there will be not much use for Resolutions just yet.

3 - Amendment
(1) Amends the Library of Congress Act as follows:
Change:
(2) Representatives may propose the addition of Redmont-related media to the Library of Congress via resolution. Any such resolution must meet the following requirements:
(a) Video additions must include the creator, date of release, and a link to the video.
(b) Additions of artwork or graphic content must include the creator, date of release, and a copy of the image.
(c) Additions of written works or articles must include the writer, date of publication, and the full text of the written work unless the written work exceeds 1,000 words, in which case it may be linked.
(d) Both chambers of Congress must approve the resolution via supermajority.
