Amend the Constitution
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Pardon Powers Amendment"
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
2 - Purpose
(1) As it stands, the President may have the power to pardon anyone in an impeachment.
(2) The purpose of this amendment is to further define the President’s existing pardon powers within the constitution.
3 - Constitutional Amendment
(1) Under “Powers of the President” changes “Grant reprieves and pardons to citizens charged with breaking the law.” to “Grant reprieves and pardons to citizens charged with breaking the law, with the exception of impeachment.”
(2) Under “Defining Key Terms” added the definition of “Presidential Pardons” defined as “A lawful order to overturn a criminal charge, providing clemency on a charge to an accused player. Any exercise of pardon power shall be issued only in the form of a signed document released to the public.”
