Amend the Property Standards Act​

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Plot Limitations Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Rep. MissAndrist.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Rep. RylandW.

2 - Reasons
(1) There is a shortage of plots for new players to buy.
(2) Some players own too many plots.
(3) Tighter limits on plot ownership must be put in place to create a more fair market for plots.

3 - Amendments
(1) Section 16, subsection 1 of the Property Standards Act shall be amended as follows:
“(1) C Plots. A citizen may not own more than 50 20 commercial properties.”
(2) Section 16, subsection 4 of the Property Standards Act shall be amended as follows:
“(4) S Plots. A citizen may not own more than 6 4 skyscraper properties.”

4 - Enforcement
(1) In the case of this bill becoming law, any citizen who exceeds the new plot limitations shall be given a notice of two weeks to sell or otherwise transfer ownership of the property. After two weeks, if the citizen has not transferred ownership of the property, they shall be evicted from the property by the Government.

Nay - Arbitrary plot limits don't solve anything. Why? Because in the past players have just set up businesses to help people avoid them by having someone else hold their properties. There are many ways around this.

The best way to address plot hoarding is through increasing the exponential taxation of plots.
