A
BILL
To
Create a new Vehicle Abandonment Act
BILL
To
Create a new Vehicle Abandonment Act
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “The Cooler Vehicle Abandonment Act"
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This bill was authored by Representative A__C.
(4) This Act is co-sponsored by Senator black_ven0m and Representative Kitje_Katje_NL.
(5) This bill was approved by Justice Secretary ElainaThomas29.
2 - Reasons
(1) Currently there are two laws regarding abandoned vehicles or improper parking, which seems to conflict with each other. One law, Abandoned Vehicles, states that abandoned vehicles are “Vehicles that are left in the same location for a period of over 14 days, without the consent of the property owner.” The other law, Improper Parking, states “Parking a vehicle on a public or government land, not in at designated parking bay, property owners have full discretion of this on their property however the vehicle owner can contest this in court.” However, vehicles can also be left on government land for 14 days.
(2) Due to this, it was a source of confusion to an employee at the Department of Justice, and it would be useful to clarify the laws more.
3 - Terms
(1) Creates a law called Vehicle Abandonment with the following terms:
A vehicle is considered abandoned when any of these conditions are met:
1. Vehicle is left on public or government land and not in a designated parking bay.
2. Vehicle is parked on a plot without the consent of the plot owner.
3. Vehicle is left in a designated parking bay for a period of over 14 days.
Per Offence: Vehicle Impounded ($60 fee on release)
(2) Hereby repeals the PIPIPUPU Act and the Abandoned Vehicles Reform Act.
