Amend the Judicial Standards Act

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Verdict Freedom of Information Act'.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by xEndeavour.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by President of the Senate xEndeavour.

2 - Reasons
(1) Citizens must have a right to know who is presiding over their case and the decisions that they make during a case.
(2) The intent of this law is to ensure that litigating parties have access to who is ruling on their case (i.e. in the past where the court has denied this request).
(3) The intent of this law is to ensure that when a decision is made, the parties are able to see which justice has agreed/dissented on each issue before the court (i.e. where this has been denied in the past).

3 -Addition
(1) Section 31 of the Judicial Standards Act shall be created as follows:

Ruling Transparency
(1) Where there is more than one Judicial Officer presiding over a case, the court must inform all parties as to which judicial officers are presiding on their case.
(2) When rendering verdicts on cases or deciding on motions, individual presiding judicial officer's opinions and rulings must be attributable.
(a) These rulings and opinions can be published collectively (i.e. signing on to a verdict/decision) or individually.
