A
BILL
To

The people of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “ Yes I do the cleaning Act”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) The Act has been co-sponsored by: LobsterRoast

2 - Reasons
  1. The Congress Support Act institutes a hostile relationship between the legislative and executive. It is important that we provide transparency but with fairness to all sides. The current bill is redundant in purpose as it does the same thing that “Creation of a Congress-Cabinet Chat Act” & “Legislative Standards Act”
  2. It’s important that we notate this bill is not against transparency or accountability however, it is against the over-complication of a simple process. The items listed within the “Congress Support Act” are redundant and need to be removed or should be formulated into an amendment of the Legislative Standards Act.

3 - Repeal the following acts of congress
  1. Congress Support Act

AMENDMENT
Senate Vote: 5-0-0
House Vote: 6-2-0

Section 4, titled "Amending the Legislative Standards Act" is hereby added as follows:

4 - Amending the Legislative Standards Act
(1) 2 new sections shall be added to the Legislative Standards Act

23 - Congressional-questions channel
(1) A new Channel Shall be created in the DemocracyCraft Discord called something along the lines of
#Congressional-Questions (at the discretion of the owners) which shall be open for viewing by the public. In which any Committee member may ask a question to a member of the executive relevant to the committee they are a part of. (e.g. A Budget Committee member may ask the secretary of state why their budget increased by 40k this month).
(2). Such a question must be formal, detailed and relevant to the committee they are asking from and include a ping to the person. The person being asked is expected to answer within a reasonable time frame. Repeatedly avoiding questions may be seen as grounds for being held in contempt of congress. However, if someone is absent due to personal circumstances, either the president or the direct subordinate of the person being asked(deputy-secretary, vice-president, Solicitor General) may do so instead and answer to the best of their ability. (edited)

24 - Congress Tickets
(1) Under the Channel #Government-Support a ticket-tool-panel will be created including the speaker, the deputy speaker and its staff. The Speaker may add anyone to the ticket they considered relevant. This ticket will be strictly used for transparency only, such as providing vote counts to the press, request on when a certain document will be updated, updates on committee investigations, e.t.c.
(2) The current sections "23 - Oath of Office" , "24 - Amendments" and "25 - Bill & Resolution Format Thread" of the Legislative Standards Act will be renumbered to sections 25, 26 and 27 respectively.
