Amend the Constitution

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Advisory Secretary Amendment”
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) Co-Authored by Representative Westray

2 - Purpose
(1) This amendment re-establishes the role of the Advisory Secretary from the previous constitution.
(2) In order to prevent a conflict of the separation of powers and unapproved leadership, in which a Deputy serves as Acting Secretary, this role needs to be re-established.

3 - Amendments
(1) Added to “Secretaries” Under “President & Cabinet”:
The President may nominate a Secretary without portfolio to Cabinet, known as an Advisory Secretary, who does not lead any departments but rather acts as an adviser. In order to permanently lead a department, the Advisory Secretary must be re-approved by the Senate.
