BILL To

Amend the Constitution to ensure citizens of The Commonwealth of Redmont are provided proper representation in court.

The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This bill should be entitled the "Constitutional Amendment (V) March 2021" or "Proper Representation Amendment"
(2) This act shall take effect after a Referendum is held.
(3) Authored by _Austin27_, Matt_S0 and 1950Minecrafter

2 - Reason As it currently stands, anyone can file a lawsuit in court, no matter their occupation. This deters from players seeking outside counsel when filing lawsuits. This bill is to establish the right for a citizen to be represented properly in the court and to ensure that not just anyone can file a lawsuit.

3 - New Law (Proper Representation) Any lawsuit must be filed by an individual who, at the time of filing the suit, possesses the in-game role of Solicitor, Barrister or Attorney. Violation of this law will result in a $100 fine per offense.

4 - Amending the Constitution
(1) Under Section IV titled "Rights and Freedoms" the following is to be amended:
(2) "V. All accused are entitled to appeal a charge made against them by the state." will be changed to " V. All accused are entitled to appeal a charge made against them by the state. This appeal should be facilitated by legal professional, whether hired or appointed."

5 - Appointed Representation
(1) If a citizen cannot afford outside counsel, representation will be provided to them by a member of the Redmont Bar Association.
(2) The Redmont Bar Association Counsel will be responsible for reviewing any cases presented to them where a citizen is seeking appointed representation.
(3) The Redmont Bar Association Counsel will appoint any willing member of the board to take the case.
