A
BILL
To

Amend the
Legislative Standards Act and the constitution.

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Expectations Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by xEndeavour.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by TheReal42Person.

2 - Reasons
(1) Senators are complaining that they are being pinged about why they are killing bills without providing a reason. This bill will make it so no one has to ask them, they just need to do their job from the start.
(2) This bill is in the interests of progression and engagement. If a representative doesn't know why their bill was voted down, then how are they supposed to fix it for reproposal or approach the amendment from a different perspective.
(3) If people want to be lazy or petty, then let the record show that they are voting a bill down for non=genuine reasons.
(4) Accountability.

3 - Additions

26 - Reasonings

(1) All nays on bills must be accompanied with a reasoning which provides a genuine reason as to why the member of congress voted against the bill. This reasoning must be provided in the comment section of the bill thread.
(a) Failure to record a reasoning will result in the vote being recorded as an abstention.
