Start the Process for Private Insurance Companies​

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the Constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Private Insurance Encouragement Act [PIE Act]'.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Representative TheReal42Person.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Rep. Snowy_Heart.

2 - Reasons
(1) Medicare is extremely overpowered, even if it doesn’t cover all cures.
(2) With the potential introduction of private pharmacies, there should be some forms of private health insurance.
(3) If Medicare is restricted, it would encourage the demand for private insurance, potentially allowing banks or separate businesses to provide those services.

3 - Restriction of Medicare
(1) If a player wants to have Medicare, they must take the exam at the hospital.
(a) Players may request their Medicare license be removed at any time via a Department of Health ticket.
(2) The Secretary of Health has the sole power to remove someone’s Medicare license.
(3) Medicare only applies to government issued health treatments, however the specific treatments covered is up to the Secretary of Health.
(4) All current players with Medicare may keep it unless removed by the Secretary of Health.

4 - Amendments to the “Miscellaneous Offenses Act
(7) Insurance Fraud
(i) Classification: Indictable Criminal Offense
The act of intentionally causing damages in order to obtain money from an insurance organization.
Per Offense: $5,000 + All Insured Payments Returned + Up to 20 Minutes Jail Time
