To
Amend the Constitution
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Pocket Veto Amendment”
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
2 - Reason
(1) Currently, the President may utilize a silly pocket veto as s maneuver to exercise veto powers over a bill by taking no action, and to avoid any potential veto override.
3 - Amendment
(1) Added to Section 1 “The Congress”:
“Once the Congress passes the bill, it is then sent to the President for their approval. If 72 hours pass after the bill is presented to the President or Acting President for assent, the bill automatically receives assent, unless vetoed before the 72 hours have passed or if it is a complex change.”
